Bed bugs, a growing problem in the San Francisco Bay Area, were investigated by KGO-TV, an ABC affiliate, resulting in the attached video and feature story. A resident of a homeless shelter in Berkeley, CA, complained he was attacked and scarred by bed bugs leading the shelter's director to look for solutions. As a part of their investigation, KGO interviewed Dr. Vernard Lewis, a reknowned entomologist from UC Berkeley and Nick Pandeli with Alliance Environmental, a California licensee of the ThermaPureHeat® process. The shelter's housing director, Drew King, said they wanted to avoid spraying pesticides in sleeping areas. This was welcome news to the shelter's residents.
